Estimate your regular pay, overtime pay and total weekly gross earnings. Adjust the threshold and multiplier to match your workplace rules.
How overtime pay is calculated
The calculator splits total hours at your chosen threshold, then applies the multiplier only to overtime hours.
Regular pay + (overtime hours × hourly rate × multiplier)
Example: 45 hours at $20 per hour with a 40-hour threshold and 1.5× multiplier equals $800 regular pay plus $150 overtime pay.
About the 40-hour default
For covered, nonexempt U.S. employees, federal rules generally require at least 1.5 times the regular rate for hours over 40 in a workweek. Exemptions and state or local rules may change the result.
